Title: FLEXEMAN - Flexible Learning Towards European Environmental Management

Goal: 1/ To develop and test new European environmental management courses based on flexible learning methods; 2/ to develop and test open and distance learning methodologies; 3/ to produce a software package for easy dissemination of project outcomes.
Target groups: environmental small and medium enterprises (SMEs), young entrepreneurs

HIGHER EDUCATION SUPPORT PROGRAMME/OPEN SOCIETY FUND, BUDAPEST 2001
Title: Higher Education Management
Coordinator: AINova Central Administration
Goal: The project supported the preparation and realization of a seminar for sharing experience among already existing higher education institutions within the area of Central and Southern Europe and NIS, ranging from vision and role of higher education in society to day-to-day management.
Target group: staff members of small higher education institutions - directors, directors for administration, academic affairs representatives, financial managers and bookkeepers, auditors, programme administrators, study officers, PR managers.

HIGHER EDUCATION SUPPORT PROGRAMME/OPEN SOCIETY FUND, BUDAPEST, 2001
Title: Summer School in Environmental Management in a European Perspective
Coordinator: Open, Distance and Vocational Learning Programme of AINova
Goal: The goal of the summer school was to provide young university teachers from CEEC and the New Independent States with information related to environmental management.
Target group: young university teachers

Title: Follow up of Summer School 2000 European Environmental Law and Summer School 2001 Environmental Management in a European Perspective
Coordinator: Open, Distance and Vocational Learning Programme of AINova
Goal: The goal of the summer school was to bring together the alumni of previous summer schools organized under the Open, distance and vocational learning programme. The main result of the summer school was building of the new partnerships and also new project ideas.
Target group: alumni of previous summer schools

USAID PROJECT 2001 – 2002
Title: Strategic Planning and Economic Development
Coordinator: Chemonics International Inc., USA
Partners: Berman Group; Built Heritage Conservation and Development Programme of AINova
Goal: The goal of the project was to provide local economic development assistance to municipalities in the SR in 4 selected Slovak pilot cities - Trnava, Ĺ aÄža, PreĹĄov, HumennĂŠ. The second objective of the project was the transfer of the know-how to AINova experts. AINova, as the subcontractor and local partner performed assistance to Chemonics’ and Berman Group representatives providing logistical, administrative and professional/technical support.
Target group: municipalities of 4 selected Slovak towns

Title: TEKTEMAN - Trans-European Knowledge Transfer in Environmental Management
Coordinator: Open, Distance and Vocational Learning Programme of AINova
Partners: Compenditur Estudos e Formaňao, PT; Dr. Jorg Kohn Consulting Corp., DE; Vitalis GmbH, DE;, C.V.T. Georgikis Anaptixis, GR; Euroform, IT.
Goal: The project aimed at contributing to the improvement of the situation in businesses and to give young workers in SMEs and recent graduates an opportunity to obtain the necessary information and practical knowledge within the field of Environmental Management. This gave them an opportunity to improve their own job prospects and also helped to improve the environmental performance of companies in Slovakia.
Target groups: young workers, graduates

Goal: The goal of the project was to build a trans-national network, which aimed at developing a virtual market place meeting the demand and supply in the area of vocational education for sustainable development. The TENVORS network was supported by an ambitious web-based platform.

Title: Political and Economic Consequences of Slovak Membership in the EU and EMU
Coordinator: Professional Programme in Applied Economics of AINova
Goal: The project supported the preparation of an international conference. The subject of the conference was the introduction of Euro and its implications on the exchange rate policies of Eastern and Central European countries.
Target groups: civil servants, academicians, journalists, public administration

OPEN SOCIETY FUND BRATISLAVA 2001 - 2003
Project Title: Development Potential of the Lesser Carpathian Region
Coordinator: Built Heritage Conservation and Development Programme of AINova
Partner: Slovak Academy of Sciences, SK
Goal: The overall objective of the research project was to raise awareness about the necessity of a complex socio-economic development plan for the Lesser Carpathian Region through activating local communities, creating public-private partnerships and interviewing key personalities in particular localities.

HEADLEY TRUST PROJECT 2001 - 2005
Title: Consolidation of the Ruined Historic Structures of Uhrovec Castle

Goal: The goal of the project is to do research and conserve the findings of the Uhrovec Castle.
