Universities – the source of consolidation of civil society in neighbouring Ukraine; Slovakia – mediator on the way of Ukrainian academics to new European university area (2010-2012)

This project focuses on development of civil society in Ukraine, specifically the group of university teachers. After successful launching of cooperation with the Lviv National University, the project activities concentrate on its teachers and teachers from partner education institutions in the region.
The global aim of the project is also democratization and support of good governance in universities in Ukraine and facilitation of involvement of Ukrainian university teachers into the European university area.
The main project activities include 4 study visits for 15 participants in Slovakia for 5 full days. The programmes of study visits are designed in the close cooperation with the Ukrainian partner as well as representatives of Slovak universities. They include the topics of current developments and trends in the EU with regard to the education and mobility programmes, relevant aspects of project management, visits of 2 Slovak universities to get familiar with the Bologna process and Slovak experience, the management and autonomy of Slovak universities.
The final international conference will take place in Lviv to involve more teachers from the region and the brochure edited in connection with the conference will be an instrument of further dissemination of project results.
