Library
The premises of the Information Centre also has the Sir Karl Popper library. The Austrian Ambassador to the Slovak Republic, Mrs. Gabriele Matzner, officially opened the library in January 1998. The Austrian government and the private A. W. Mellon Foundation financially supported its establishment. The library collects literature in the fields of AINova’s activities - European integration, built heritage conservation and development, environmental policy and public policy. The primary aim of the library is to serve AINova students, lecturers and employees, as well as allow access to information for the public and the local community.
The library collection consists of over 7,000 books and working papers, a number of dictionaries of various languages in print as well as on CD-ROM’s, new encyclopedias, textbooks and reference books. Also valuable is the collection of AINova’s student papers and final theses. The library subscribes to specialised journals in Slovak, Czech and English.
The long-term goal of the library is to build the collection of literature related to the town Svätý Jur and the region and attract visitors from local community.
The Information centre is open daily from 2pm till 7 pm.
