Applied research in the field of historic building stock
Three stipends for applied research were awarded in the last academic year 2005/2006. Thanks to the support from Fond PSS, a.s. one stipend was awarded to AINova alumni and two stipends to young professionals from partner institutions – Slovak Monument Board and Institute of Construction and Architecture SAS. Research reflected up-to-date problems and was dedicated to the following topics: Management of Historic Housing Stock with a Special Focus on Houses from the 1st Half of the 20th Century in Bratislava; Historic Trusses and the Adaptation of Attic Space for Living in the Conservation Reserve of SvätĂ˝ Jur; Local Resource Management – case study of SvätĂ˝ Jur. The department intends to continue in the support of professional capacity building in Slovakia through interconnecting the educational process with current problems from practice.
