Specialised Language Courses

EUROSPEAK
EURODEUTSCH

The AINova staff organizes specialized language courses on EU terminology - EUROSPEAK, and EURODEUTSCH. Courses are designed especially for civil servants who participate in working group meetings in the European institutions, for translators and interpreters and other experts who use foreign language in their work.
The Eurospeak course has run regularly since 2004 and its programme has been adapted on the basis of the feedback from participants as well as the topical themes of the EU. The course has been completed so far by up to 250 participants in 20 groups.

The contents and scope of the course is always adapted to the needs of participants, in general the courses can be characterized as intensive, from 20 to 40 hour long, focused on:
• Development of specialized vocabulary (EU institutions, decision-making, trends in selected areas of EU activities, hot topics)
• Related grammar, discussion on current topics, development of knowledge of EU issues – with the stress on the use of new grammar and communication skills
• Practical training of presentation or meetings skills, related language tools, emphasis on formal vocabulary and means used at meetings and official sessions.

The course participants activate their vocabulary in the area of European affairs, practice selected grammar in connection with the EU topics and acquire phrases used in meetings conducted in English. The texts used during the course are authentic, the trainers rely on their thorough knowledge of the EU institutional environment. The participants are always encouraged to use the genuine vocabulary in debates, simulations, presentations and brainstorming.
A similar course is prepared also in the German language.
