The Award of Exemplary Conservation

A conserved historic houses from the Lesser Carpathian region are competing for the favor of the public and also about the evaluation of an expert jury. The wide public votes to award the Prize of Public to one building through the voting on AINova´s web page where a photo gallery of the nominated buildings is located and the expert jury awards another prize – Prize of the Expert Jury.

The mission of the Award is to present positive examples of conserved architectural heritage of the Lesser Carpathian region. The historic architecture not only that which is already listed and protected is considerably forming the character and qualities of the cultural landscape. Repair and regular maintenance of this built heritage which is respecting heritage values of the houses and also the needs of today’s life has a big potential for preserving the cultural and historic potential of the towns and villages in the region. The exemplary conserved houses are a valuable source of information and inspiration not only for heritage professionals, but also for the public.
